10,000 Bees is a duo between Texas singer/songwriter, Aimee Bobruk, and Danish songwriter and guitarist, René Gummer. We perform popular songs that keep your feet tappin' in the Americana, folk, roots/rock and country genres. We mix in our originals and bring together our US and Danish cultures. Our newest album, Say it in a Song, features all original songs written for the working man. It shares stories inspired by real people, actual towns we've visited, and historical events. In 2025 we released a live album called, Live from Aarhus, DK and in 2024 we released a conceptual EP, Songs from the Dustbowl, that recounts the United States' Dust Bowl of 1930-1940, the largest manmade agricultural catastrophe. We often draw comparisons to Emmylou Harris and Mark Knopfler, Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, and more modern bands like Shovel and Rope. Kindly sign up on our mailing list to keep track of the buzz.
A song that sets things in perspective when you look at world migration tody. “Spindle City” tells the story of the immigration of a Dane to Cahoes, New York at the end of 19th century. Listen to gain a sense of the enormity of the struggle it was to immigrate and create a better life for one's self and family. Yet, still so many did and still do today.
This single, sung in Danish, has an English version, titled “Walk Tall and Stay True” released on the album - Say it in a Song. “Dine Fodspor," translated as “Your Footprints,” is about the marks we leave in life and those we follow. About growing up with an alcoholic parent. About being the adult, though you’re still a kid. About saying no and moving forward. About coming back.
